Welcome bonus headlines are built to be compared by size: €500, €1,200, €7,000. It is natural to read the biggest number as the best deal. On the offers we track, it is not — it is the same deal, scaled up.
We checked every active welcome offer in our partner data: ShakeBet, SlotMonster, Foxy Gold, Incognito Casino and LuckyPays. All of them are non-sticky, carry 35x wagering on the bonus amount (not deposit plus bonus), and cap bets at €5 while bonus funds are active. The one exception is ShakeBet’s German package at 30x. Because the multiplier is identical, the per-euro cost of every offer is identical too. Each €1 of bonus requires €35 of bets before it can become withdrawable cash. What does change with size is the commitment. Unlocking ShakeBet’s full three-deposit package takes about €6,667 in deposits across three steps, and clearing it takes €245,000 in bets. At the €5 maximum bet that is at least 49,000 rounds — roughly 68 hours of continuous play at one spin every five seconds, and far longer at lower stakes. LuckyPays’ €777 match needs €27,195 in bets, or at least 5,439 rounds at €5.
There is also the house edge to consider. Slots return less than they take in over time; at an assumed 96% return-to-player, the expected house edge on 35x turnover works out to about 1.4 times the bonus. That is an average across very many rounds, and short-run results swing widely either way — but it means that on average the bonus balance is expected to run out before the wagering is complete. The honest way to value a welcome bonus is as extra playtime, not as money you are likely to withdraw. That holds at €500 and at €7,000.
SlotMonster needs a footnote. Its €500 is per claim: the offer can be claimed repeatedly in the first three days after registration, up to 25 times, and each claim carries its own 35x wagering. Repeat claims do not change the per-euro math — they multiply it.
So how should you choose? Start from what you were already planning to deposit, not from the headline.
